A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step…

Living almost 6 years abroad brought me more than a degree, it also left me 50 lbs of over weight. I’m not trying to justify myself for not taking care of my body during college, but as a poor student that had to work to pay for her education, eating healthy and exercising was really hard!

When I came back to Mexico I knew I had to make loosing that weight a priority, but I never got around it. Last year, I decided to make that a priority and that’s how my weight loss journey began. I started going to a nutritionist and exercising on a regular basis. As a 26-year-old I learned what eating well really meant, and genuinely began enjoying exercising. Those 8 months were anything but easy, but I lost 29 lbs.

Since then, I haven’t either gained or lost weight significantly. You know? Your body gets used to the new habits! And also… well life happens (I’ll talk about that in another post!).

So, I decided that it’s never too late into the year to make up your mind to lose the remaining 21 lbs. Last week, I went to a nutritionist to try something completely different and boost my metabolism. Today is the first day of this new diet and you are more than welcome to follow me in the rest of this journey that started last year!
